After months of speculation, Cadillac has finally announced its 2013 ATS which will begin production in next summer. Sounds like a long time to wait for a car, but Cadillac has proven in the past that good things come to those who wait.
The new Cadillac ATS is slotted beneath the CTS sedan in Cadillac’s vehicle lineup vetting it with other cars like the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
One look at the new Cadillac ATS and it may seem a little familiar. That’s because it was inspired by Cadillac’s top-notch progressive vehicle the CTS. The ATS is highlighted by crisp lines and bulging wheel arches that make it look like it will chew up the road and spit it back out. But unlike the CTS, the ATS’s headlight look to flow more into its fenders, therefore giving it a more swept-back look.

Much like the Cadillac CTS, the ATS will become available in sedan, coupe and wagon styles. All of this news is all well and good, but the real big news, the news that got your Houston Cadillac dealers uber excited is that the new Cadillac ATS will get a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The entry-level ATS is slated to come equipped with a 270 horsepower version of GM’s turbocharged 2.0L engine, backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. With stats like that, you know the gas mileage is a dream: 22/32 mpg to be exact.
For those of you who think that engine to too small to get excited about, fear not. A 3.6L ATS model will also be available, sporting 330 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It will also have an eight-speed tranny, giving gas mileage at 20/30 mpg.
