In the early days of the sport utility vehicle companies that built them focused so much on the utility part that the ruggedness didn’t allow for any luxury. But people who had the means to purchase a high end vehicle also wanted the roominess and capability of a SUV. This is no longer a problem thanks to the 2011 Cadillac SRX Crossover. Luxury and utility wrapped in one.
The 2011 Cadillac SRX has been atop GM’s luxury brand best-selling list since the refreshed model was unveiled for the 2010 model year and everything about this vehicle is luxury. The Cadillac SRX features every major amenity that you would expect from a modern luxury vehicle while focusing on the needs of a modern SUV buyer.
Climb into the SRX and you’ll instantly know why this is one of the best-selling luxury SUVs on the market. The luxurious leather seats provide living-room comfort with power adjustments and heated seats for the driver and front passenger. Your back seat passengers will be just a warm as you because rear seats also have heated seats along with their own set of controls for their climate zone.
The back of the plush leather front seats feature flip-up monitors controlled from the dash-mounted infotainment unit with rear headphone jacks and controls for the rear-riders to control the volume on their own, a great feature for anyone on a long drive with antsy kids. All of this in a sporty crossover that offers the abilities of a 4WD vehicle without forcing awkward, heavy driving attributes. Try driving the Cadillac SRX and you’ll see that it feels more like driving a sport sedan than a sport utility.
There are so many additional features to love about the 2011 Cadillac SRX Crossover that you just have to experience to believe. Stop by your local Houston Cadillac dealer to test drive one today!

Round Four of the SCCA World Challenge was nothing short of exciting. The weekend started with a Friday qualifying round cancellation due to a lack of visibility during a passing snow storm in Tooele, Utah thus, changing the entire course of race events.
Since the qualifying round was cancelled, the grid for Saturday’s Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Utah presented by Bondurant was set by SCCA Pro Racing Regulations, determined by Driver’s Points in each class. Drivers who had not scored points in the first three rounds of the SCCA World Challenge were gridded based on combined practice times after those who have scored points.
The race started with a bang … or rather a stall. Seventh starting Randy Pobst’s No. 6 K-Pax Racing Volvo and Andy Pilgrim’s No. 8 Cadillac Racing Cadillac CTS-V Coupe both stalled practically side-by-side when the lights went out.
Later in the race Pobst’s car was hit from behind by the No. 37 Rehagen Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302S, heavily damaging the Volvo and leaving the defending GT Champion stranded on the front straight. The incident brought out the yellow flag on the first trip around the 15-turn, 3.048-mile configuration.
When the field restarted on lap six, the race leaders raced ahead of the field trailed by No. 6 Cadillac Racing Cadillac CTS-V Coupe of Jonny O’Connell.
Daskalos, driving the No. 7 Dalsin Developments Dodge Viper, became the fourth consecutive Viper driver to win a World Challenge GT race at Miller Motorsports Park.
Team Cadillac completed in the top five in the GT class and overall. O’Connell held his fourth position for 22 laps after moving there on lap two. Pilgrim, who fell as low as 17th overall after his stall on the standing start, worked back through the field to finish fifth. O’Connell matched his season high with the finish, and Pilgrim set his season best in the manufactures’ return to the series in 2011.
Good Job Team Cadillac! If you want the Team Cadillac racing experience, stop by your local Houston Cadillac Dealer to test drive the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe today. You won’t be disappointed.

The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press is a Denver-based association of automotive journalists, communication specialists and auto-industry professionals. The New Vehicle of the Year Award recognizes the most outstanding all-new, redesigned or significantly re-engineered 2011 model.
The 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe came out victorious over 30 eligible cars, pickups, crossovers and SUVs evaluated by association members in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
“It takes a very exceptional vehicle indeed to master both the plains and mountains of the Rocky Mountain West and I’m thrilled that the journalists of the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press have voted the new and innovative Cadillac CTS Coupe our 2011 New Vehicle of the Year,” said Roman Mica, association president.
Introduced in the second half of last year, the 2011 CTS joined the Cadillac CTS Sport Sedan and CTS Sport Wagon in the Cadillac’s CTS line.
“The CTS Coupe was meant to stand out from the crowd with its bold design and world-class performance,” said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac marketing. “The award from the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press is further proof that we achieved our goal.”
