Fashion Trends of 2012

From Glamour to Harper’s Bazaar we have the fashion trends of 2012.  Fashion Week displayed some fun trends for the upcoming months including new color combos and statement-making prints.  Houston Cadillac Dealers knows what it means to look luxury! Cheerful Color Blocking:
Colors that resemble the sky during sunset seem to be the trending colors this spring.  Bold, solid color pieces like a wrap dress, or skirt and cardigan make simple dressing look glam.  The best fashion tip to apply to this trend is stick to three colors max and avoids the rainbow look.

Sporty Chic:
Influences from the athletic world are definitely a trend going into Spring 2012.  Bold stripes and string ties from sportswear are incorporated into elegant pieces creating a unique, cool vibe.

Anoraks:
“Cool girl” anoraks are one of the winning items of this trending, spring fashion.  There is a sporty vibe this spring and the anorak will make any rainy day look chic.

Flapper Influences:
Drop-waist and sequins were some of the glamorous elements that adorned the runway.  1920’s inspired pieces brought chic to a whole new level during Fashion Week.

Make-a-Statement Prints:
Head to toe draped in prints.  This year expect vibrant, swirling, and chic patterns to tread the runway. Oversized florals, geometric shapes, and even parrot print (get excited Jimmy Buffet fans) are great pieces to pair with a simple solid color.

Bleed Orange:
…not burnt but more tangerine,  Pantone Institutes prediction of tangerine being  the most popular color of spring 2012, was spot on.  Tangerine Tango painted the runway this year as well as variations of this beautiful color.  Great thing about tangerine orange, it will always make you look tanner.

Pink Short Suits!
Who can pass up a cute pair of Bermuda shorts but a pink short suit, SOLD. This might not be the perfect suit for your office but definitely a cute outfit to make a statement and can easily be paired with other pieces to make a whole new set of cute outfits!

Futuristic Prints:
Techno or photoshop?  The futuristic graphics certainly made an impression.  Try pairing these incredibly bright and gorgeous prints with a simple elegant piece, like a white flowing silk blouse (i.e. never go out of style shirt).

Pastel Shades:
If you are not much of a tangerine fan not to worry, pastel shades are in for spring.   Pastels are always sophisticated and classy and the sweet sorbet “in” shades this spring makes for a stylish, ladylike look.

Colorful Camo:
Camo most always seem too heavy duty to look dainty but Lela Rose’s dress from Fashion Week 2012 can definitely sway your feelings.  These soft, pastel camo prints are actually ladylike and playful.  The best way to make this style look cheery is to pair it with a bright color shoe and a petite belt.
Metallic!

Always a great way to light up the dance floor, metallic basics is the perfect match for a simple blouse or tank.  From wrap skirts to slim trousers metallic owned the runway.
Peplum shirts, skirts, and dresses

A short flared ruffle that sits at the natural waist and creates the perfect, flirt look when paired with a nice heel.  Be on the lookout for the Peplum trend, its coming!
